Lea Michele asks for privacy

Lea Michele asks for privacy

Cory Monteith’s girlfriend Lea Michele has asked for “privacy” following his “devastating” death.
The Glee stars had been dating for over a year and their characters Finn Hudson and Rachel Berry also enjoyed a romance on the show. Lea had stood by her boyfriend following his decision to enter rehab a few months ago.
The 26-year-old actress’ representative has now come forward to ask that people give Lea time to grieve.
"We ask that everyone kindly respect Lea's privacy during this devastating time," the spokesperson said in a statement.
Cory was found dead in Vancouver on Saturday. The 31-year-old was discovered in his hotel room after he missed his check out time. An autopsy will be carried out on Monday and police have said no foul play is suspected.
Following news of his death, celebrities such as Demi Lovato and Kim Kardashian have offered prayers up for Lea and Cory.
“#RIPCoryMonteith… So unbelievably tragic. Please #prayforLea..” Demi wrote on her Twitter page.
Fans of the US TV show Glee have also expressed their support for the heartbroken actress, with ‘PrayForLea’ and ‘StayStrongLea’ trending on Twitter.
Lea vowed to remain strong for Cory during his recent stint in rehab for substance abuse issues.
“I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this,” she said earlier this year. “I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”
According to HollywoodLife Lea has been left heartbroken by his death.
“She [Lea Michele] is absolutely hysterical and completely inconsolable,” a source close to the actor said. “She is devastated beyond belief.”
There is even speculation the pair had discussed getting married and had been looking forward to having children together.
In a magazine interview, Lea previously said she felt like the “luckiest girl in the world” to be dating her co-star.
"I don't even remember a time when he wasn't my boyfriend. No one knows me better than Cory," she said. “He makes me feel like I can do anything. For the first time in my life, I feel really, really settled and happy.”
Cory - who first received treatment for his addictions when he was 19 - looked healthy and happy in a video shot by TMZ last month. The 31-year-old Canadian star was seen smiling and laughing with Lea as they held hands at LAX airport.
