Rihanna wears blue lipstick, see-through shirt and fur varsity jacket to launch new clothing range

Rihanna made a bold statement on Tuesday night at the launch of her new fashion collection in London.

The global superstar dressed her lips in blue lipstick to go with a sexy androgynous look complete with a black and white fur varsity jacket, see-through shirt and skinny metallic jeans.

And thanks to the party celebrating her new autumn/winter collection for River Island, Rihanna, 25, got the chance to hang out with her model pal Cara Delevingne.

Calling out to her British fans, Rihanna tweeted on Tuesday: 'UK Navy, I'm in London today launching the Autumn #RihannaforRiverIsland range.'

The Bajan singer hosted the cocktail event to mark her second sartorial outing for the high street retailer, held in the penthouse suite at the Dorchester Hotel.

The party then moved on to Cut restaurant in Mayfair where the fashionable elite continued their evening.

But as Rihanna - who modelled items from her new range - left the upmarket hotel she made sure to pose with some fans, and give one lucky police officer a little memento in the form of a yellow beanie hat with 'Ri Ri' written on it.

Cara Delevingne also wore pieces from the River Island collection - which will appear in selected stores this week - inspired by urban street wear, as she joined Rihanna for a glass of wine at the launch.

'I literally designed everything I want to wear — exactly how I want to wear it,' the popstar said in a promotional video.

Rihanna was also in town for the city's Fashion Week where her costume designer Adam Selman made a provocative catwalk show debut last Thursday.

Rihanna also posted a picture of her being driven around the French capital clutching a glass of wine as the week of parties and showcases continues.

Meanwhile, Jennifer, 22, was spotted at the Christian Dior show at Hotel Des Invalides as part of the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 Fashion Week. She was suitably dressed in a pastel crop top from Dior's resort collection and trousers with one tailored leg and one oversized, as well as large dark shades.

Rihanna later tweeted she was going back out to party in Paris, writing on Twitter: ''#KTZLifeStyle #PaRih #latenights. (sic)''

The 25-year-old star attracted criticism during a recent trip to another European city, Amsterdam, when she posted pictures of her smoking marijuana in a cafe with the caption ''Legalise it''. She then went off on a rant where she said she didn't want to seen as a role model.

She wrote: '''Role Model' is not a position or title that I have ever campaigned for, so chill wit dat! I got my own f***ed up s**t to work on, I'll never portray that as perfect, but for right now it's ME!! Call it what ya want!! (sic)''

The provocatively dressed 'Diamonds' singer added some star power to the front row at the fashion house's autumn/winter 2013-14 haute couture runway show, but stole attention away from the models by sporting a risqué floor-length oversized shirt dress that showed off ample skin.

Rihanna - who is known for her love of Chanel - teamed her barely-buttoned outfit with accessories from the luxury brand, including a cream handbag and matching Chanel heels with black detailing.

The 25-year-old beauty caused a stir with her cleavage-baring look, which she attempted to cover with an arrangement of striking pearl necklaces, but the singer's sizable chest tattoo - which is located under her breasts - was clearly on show.

After taking in the show, the social media-savvy star - who documented her front row experience on Instagram - grinned as she posed for a picture with Chanel's chief designer, Karl Lagerfeld.

She captioned the picture: ''The man himself @karllagerfeld #PaRih#fashionheaven (sic)''

Last month, Rihanna visited fashion icon Coco Chanel's apartment in Paris and described the experience as a ''legendary day''.

Meanwhile, Karl's latest collection earned critical praise with the designer opting for a muted colour palette including black, white, silver and grey for his apocalypse-inspired garments.
