Red hot! Sandra Bullock enjoys la dolce vita in scarlet high-waisted trousers at the Venice International Film Festival

It may be something of a busman’s holiday, but Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock is clearly enjoying her time at the Venice International Film Festival.

The Miss Congeniality star, 49, looked effortlessly stylish in high-waisted red trousers and a monochrome sleeveless top as she navigated the city during its annual cinema gala, today.  

Casually managing the Venetian summer heat, the Virginia-born star teamed her outfit with black stiletto shoes and over-sized sunglasses for a timeless, European aesthetic.

The performer has travelled to the festival with fellow actor George Clooney, with whom she co-stars in new sci-fi thriller, Gravity.

The film, directed by Alfonso Cuarón, opened the ceremony at the Palazzo del Cinema on Wednesday to hordes of screaming fans. 

There, Sandra scored herself another fashion hit with an exquisite Alexander McQueen duchess silk-satin gown, which she wore with a diamante clutch bag, strappy sandals and diamond earrings.

Twenty-four hours earlier she had wowed onlookers with a figure-flattering, colour block number by Australian designer Alex Perry, making today’s ensemble a fashion hat-trick.

Glamour aside, the movie itself cuts a more sombre tone. It tells the tale of a medical engineer and an astronaut who work together to survive after an accident leaves them adrift in space.

It is already being touted as the perfect follow-up to Bullock’s Oscar-winning performance in The Blind Side.

Unfortunately, Clooney’s behaviour has been a little less award-worthy of late.

The eligible actor was recently scolded by a local lawyer for allegedly driving a water taxi without a license. Mario D'Elia has urged police to check if had had the required permit to drive a water taxi at a time when the city’s canals are hugely congested.

The move comes after the death of a German tourist who was crushed by a water bus, earlier this month.

Venice mayor Giorgio Orsoni has since threatened a huge clampdown on illegal activity by canal drivers, including poor steering and overtaking.

Arriving in Venice on Friday were Judi Dench, who kept cool in a white outfit and Jesse Eisenberg, who didn't need help to carry his bags to his hotel.

Wak tak heran kalau benar bagai di katekan yang nonton filem Tanda Putera di hari Tayangan Pembukaan tu hanye 12 orang. Sebenarnye filem ni hanye untuk tayangan kepade orang2 UMNO sahaje, sebab nye ianye dibikin oleh orang UMNO.

Wak yakin bahawe orang dari Pakatan Rakyat sudah pasti tidak akan menjejak kan kaki nye kepanggung untuk nonton filem yang di bikin oleh UMNO ni. Kalau ade pun mungkin ade seorang due yang nonton untuk mencari bahan kritikan di dalam blog atau akhbar2 pro Pakatan Rakyat.

Sebenar nye kalu mengikut penyokong parti, PR menguasai 51% jumlah rakyat yang menyokong nye, sedangkan UBN pule menguasai 49%. Dalam seramai 49% penyokong UBN ni agak2 nye berape ramaikah yang datang nonton filem tu? Kalau bagi penyokong PR yang berjumlah 51% tu sudah pasti tidak sudi nontok filem buatan UMNO ni.

Sebenar nye rakyat hari ni tidak same macam orang2 di tahun2 lime puluhan atau enam puluhan dulu. Orang di zaman tu memang boleh di terpengaruhi oleh cerite dari filem2. Kalau filem tu cerite sedih2 make berlinangan lah air mate dan berlelehan lah hingus menangis ter esak2. Dan kalau ade adingan hero pukul lawan nye, make riuh rendah penonton nye bertepuk tangan dan bersorak2, itu hanye berlaku pade penonton2 filem di zaman bahari kale.

Tapi Wak tak heran kalu dengar kunun nye ramai juge orang UMNO termasuk pemimpin nye yang nangis nonton filem Tanda Putera tu, sebab nye yang bikin filem tu orang UMNO make adelah lebih baik orang UMNO juge yang nangis kalu tidak siape lagi yang nak nangis.
